Welcome to the JHS Library!

Welcome to the JHS Library! I look forward to assisting students and staff in gathering information and exploring their worlds. My goal is to inspire lifelong curiosity and learning. Classes visit regularly to collaborate and participate in anything from a Breakout Edu challenge to a virtual field trip utilizing our augmented reality and virtual reality technology. This is the place to become a research expert and a tech guru!

Many students enjoy grabbing a cup of cocoa from the Library Coffee Bar and relaxing to read in our comfy space. Ask me about YA books, we have an amazing collection, including audio and eBooks.

Special programs you may be interested in include our annual Poetry Slam, monthly Book Club, JHS Podcast, Crafternoon, Career Day, and the Texas Teen Book Fest outing. The library has something for everyone. Stop by and see how you can get involved!

This is my thirteenth year in education and my eighth as a high school librarian. I graduated from UT Austin with a Master’s in Information Studies, focusing my studies on school librarianship, children’s and young adult literature, reference services, information literacy, and collection management. My certifications include School Librarian (EC-12), English, Language Arts and Reading (8-12), and Special Education (EC-12).

I am passionate about working with students and helping them explore their interests, develop a love of reading, and cultivate the research and information literacy skills that will help them become independent, lifelong learners.

I enjoy reading, writing, running, yoga, being outside, and board games.
